Trade up contracts
Güncellendi · All guides
A CS2 trade up turns ten skins of one grade into one skin of the next grade (five Coverts into a knife or gloves). Each input carries an equal share of the odds, and the outcome's float is the average of the inputs' places in their float ranges, placed in the outcome's range.
The rules
- Ten skins of one grade give one skin of the next grade: Consumer to Industrial, Industrial to Mil-Spec, Mil-Spec to Restricted, Restricted to Classified, Classified to Covert.
- Five Covert skins give one knife or pair of gloves from the case of one of the inputs.
- StatTrak is all or nothing; normal and Souvenir inputs mix and give a normal skin.
- Knives, gloves, Contraband and Limited Edition items cannot be used.
The odds
Every input carries an equal share of the roll: 1/10, or 1/5 for Covert contracts. That share is split evenly over the next-grade skins of the input's own collection (for a Covert, over its case's knives and gloves). Three inputs from a collection with two possible outcomes give each of those outcomes 15%.
The float formula
Each input's float is first placed inside its own skin's range, then the ten are averaged, then the average is placed inside the outcome's range:
- place = (input float − input minimum) ÷ (input maximum − input minimum)
- average = the mean of the ten places
- outcome float = outcome minimum + average × (outcome maximum − outcome minimum)
Example: an outcome that runs from 0.00 to 0.80 at an average place of 0.10 comes out at 0.08, which is Minimal Wear. To land a Factory New outcome, the average place has to be low enough for that outcome's own range.

How are trade up odds calculated in CS2?
Every input carries an equal share of the roll: 1/10, or 1/5 for Covert contracts. That share is split evenly over the next-grade skins of the input's own collection (for a Covert, over its case's knives and gloves). Three inputs from a collection with two possible outcomes give each of those outcomes 15%.
How is the float of a trade up outcome calculated?
Each input's float is placed inside its own skin's float range (0 at its lowest possible float, 1 at its highest), those values are averaged, and the average is placed inside each outcome's own range. An outcome that runs from 0.00 to 0.80 at an average of 0.10 comes out at 0.08.
Can I mix StatTrak, Souvenir and normal skins?
Normal and Souvenir skins mix freely and the result is always a normal skin. StatTrak is all or nothing: ten StatTrak inputs give a StatTrak outcome. Knives, gloves, Contraband and Limited Edition items can't be used.
How do Covert to knife trade ups work?
Five Covert skins of the same kind (all StatTrak or none) give one knife or pair of gloves from the case of one of the inputs. Gloves are never StatTrak, so StatTrak Coverts only give knives, and Coverts from glove-only cases can't be traded up as StatTrak.
