Float values and wear ranges

A CS2 skin's float is a number from 0 to 1 that sets its wear: Factory New 0.00–0.07, Minimal Wear 0.07–0.15, Field-Tested 0.15–0.38, Well-Worn 0.38–0.45, Battle-Scarred 0.45–1.00. Each skin can only reach part of that scale, and inside one wear a cleaner float usually costs more.

Each boundary starts the next wear: a 0.0700 float is Minimal Wear, a 0.0699 float is Factory New. Lower is cleaner.
Float caps: why some wears do not exist
Every skin has its own float range, its cap. A skin whose range starts at 0.10 can never be Factory New; one that stops at 0.45 can never be Battle-Scarred. Of the 2,126 skins priced on CSPricer, 61 cannot be Factory New and 456 cannot be Battle-Scarred. Each skin page gives its range.

Why the price moves inside one wear
Buyers pay for the look, and the look follows the float: inside one wear the cleanest floats usually cost more than the dirtiest. CSPricer prices every 0.01 of float separately and calls the gap the float premium: the cleanest band of a wear against the wear's usual price (x1.60 means 60% more). On the AK-47 | Redline the Field-Tested premium is x2.23 today.
How to read a price-by-float chart
- The horizontal axis is the float, split into the wears; the vertical axis is the price.
- Each point is the price of one 0.01 float band. A hollow point is an older reading, shown for context and left out of the headline price.
- A step down where two wears meet is a wear cliff: the first floats of the next wear are cheaper.
- Pattern-tier markers show what a special pattern seed sells for, on skins where the seed matters.

What float is Factory New in CS2?
Factory New is a float from 0.00 to 0.07. Minimal Wear runs from 0.07 to 0.15, Field-Tested from 0.15 to 0.38, Well-Worn from 0.38 to 0.45 and Battle-Scarred from 0.45 to 1.00.
Does a lower float always cost more?
Usually, inside one wear. Not always: a pattern seed, stickers or a rare phase can be worth more than a cleaner float, and some skins look the same across a wear, so the float barely changes their price.
Why can't a skin be Factory New?
Its float cap starts above 0.07. A skin's float range is fixed by the game; the skin page on CSPricer states it and which wears it comes in.
